| Flavor Express Garlic Bread |
|
1 loaf Italian bread
1/2 cup liquid butter substitute or combination of "real" butter
and substitute
3 teaspoons garlic powder, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2 Tablespoons olive oil
|
| Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Fill a bellows with the butter,
olive oil, garlic powder and garlic salt. Inject using the small needle,
placing needle 1/2 " to 1" apart, depending on how thick you will
slice it after it is heated through. Move the needle up and down and
side-to-side once inside the soft bread. Inject generously. Wrap tightly
in foil. Heat in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until hot and steamy. |
Finely minced fresh garlic may be used. The pieces must be small
enough to pass through the large needle. If using melted "real" butter,
use caution. Burns can occur with any splashing. Try combining softened
whipped butter and melted "real" butter. Or try adding minced fresh
basil, olive oil, and/or your favorite flavored olive oil. For additional
garlic flavor, coat the top crust of the loaf with butter-flavored
non-stick spray or butter and minced garlic pieces. Double the recipe
for an even richer, garlic-butter taste.
